A classic French sauce that is the perfect accompaniment to fish and vegetables. With 4 simple ingredients you can create a rich and flavourful sauce that is sure to be come an instant favourite!

2 sticks Soft butter
¼ cup Dry White Wine 
2 tbShallots
Salt and Pepper To taste


  • Bring wine to a boil and add finely chop shallots to sauté pan. Heat until liquid is syrupy, about 5 minutes.
  • Next add butter (few tablespoons at a time) to sauté pan, whisking constantly (the sauce should have the consistency of hollandaise), lift pan occasionally to cool mixture.
  • When the sauce reaches consistency, remove from heat and season to taste.
